Default installing aftermarket gas pedal

Who has done it? And how did you do it?
I can't get the clip off to get the pedal off? Any ideas?

I had the same problem... most said to cut it off... but I KNEW there had to be a better way, basically I just "pushed" it out with a hammer, be carefull to not bend the pedal assembly though, you will have to remove the assembly to do this, but it is an easy thing to do, just release the throttle cable from the top, and remove the three bolts holding it to the firewall, and your good to go! A few wacks with a hammer with the pedal assembly in a vice will do the trick! I figured what goes out MUST go in... but I couldnt get the stock pin back into the assembly, and I bent the assembly a bit trying, I ended up bending the seembly back and installing the pedal with a long bolt and nut!

There is a pin that you have to slide out. It`s a major PITA. Good luck getting it back in. I couldn`t get mine back in. I had to bolt it back on. Works fine with no problems.

I had no problem, it was the brake and clutch pedals that were a PITA

I cut the pin off with a dremel and put a bolt with a locknut back in it's place.

Did you get the rubber around the otherpedals yet?
I used a very hot hair dryer to soften up the rubber on the others and they were easier to get to go around the metal plates.

Looks great when it's all done.

I took the two bolts that held the pedal assembly off and just flip it with the throttle cable still attached took a smaller screwdriver with hammer and tapped it out....for the other clutch and brake I boiled water dropped them in for 45sec-1 and put them on like nothing then just let them dry for 5 mins and your golden...

I have tried and tried again, I STILL cannot get my goddamn throttle cable off the assembly. My interior looks LAME with three of the four pedals done. Does anybody have any good tips on how to release the thing? Or does anybody here live near Sacramento and wanna earn a 12 pack for a few minutes work? Plus, what size bolt and nut did you people use who could not get the pin back in place?

Yup, I tried that and then hit the pin with some wd-40 to try to loosen it a bit, then whacked it with a hammer. It moved maybe a 1/4 inch, then nothing. I really need to release the cable so I can get the sucker on a proper vise!
