Default PI Intake on NPI heads?? Ebay kit??

Ive read the write up on putting the PI Intake on NPI heads and it looks straight forward, but the kits for sale for $499 have me puzzled. First off $499 seems crzy high, and it says unmodified PI Intake wont clear hood?? I've never heard that before. From what I read I'd think it was almost a direct swap other than the gasket needing a lil modification and the small piping being replaced with a new edge one. What am I missing, I think I can piece this install together for less than half that...am I wrong??

you need some special gaskets to get it to fix the heads

what? there are no "special gaskets" needed..
I've got umm, $170 total into my pi intake swap.. All I'm waiting to install is getting some time off and having to go buy a torque wrench.. I picked up a used pi intake with the alum crossover for $80 shipped, then another $90 for everything to install it..

These people that want you to use adapter plates are just out there for your money... While it makes it a little easier, many people run the rtv without any problems..

This is what I was hoping to hear. Anychance you can shoot me a list of what extra little crap I'm gonna need to do this besides the intake? And why do they say it wont clear the hood?!

Yeah I think I know who you are referring to! I had it out with that guy, he needs to get smacked!!! Telling me that what he has is so special???[:'(]He's full of it. All he could say is that his was a High performance mod..lol The only thing different is that he drills and taps the 2nd sensor hole for you and give you directions on how to cut the gaskets where the coolant runs and apply silicone in certain places! You can find that stuff all over. I think someone else posted info for you anyway! You can get the Dorman kit which runs $179 on ebay and has all the gaskets and hardware needed! Don't buy from that dousch!!!

the pi intake will not bolt directly to npi heads right, that is what is so special about the Livernois kit

you are right.. The livernois kit just has their "adapter plates".. If you get a regular pi intake, you can use rtv method which is what I plan on doing.. It's been done many times..
