Default Worth it?

The trans (auto) is starting to sound a bit funny on my mustang - not shifting right and etc. Now, worse comes to worse, it may have to be replaced. However is it worth it?

I currently owe around 11 on the car still, and I don't think I can afford a new trans. What would everyone do in this case?

(The trans fluid has been replaced every 25k or so, so I know its new (just replaced around 2 weeks ago))
