Anyone possibly have these yet? I want to get them but I don't want to buy and find out they look like crap in person.

IT's not new, its the same thing as the hypercoated wheels that americanmucle.com has been selling forever.

Black chrome is nice looking but peels off easier then reg chrome plating, it's a black painted wheel then chromed over 3 times. (most the time its powder coated black so it'll last longer) but sometimes they only paint them black and after about a year the edges start to peel off.

My buddy had hypercoated rims on his ws6, and they were definitly not as shiney as all these black chrome rims i see..

I know it says that in the description for their hypercoated wheels but they don't look the same at all. The ones on american muscle (here) look dark gray. The ones I linked elsewhere definitely have a very dark look to them.

And the link 99GT posted is definitely way different than the hypercoated wheels at AM.

The reason I like them is because I want the black fr500s without the chrome lip. Do you really think they are cheap and will start to flake unlike the other fr500 colors?

You can get black chorme by nickel plating as well. Nickle plating is actually one of the proscesses in chroming, and they just dont add the copper and what evere else that makes it silver.

yeah forgot to mention what korn stated, depending on how they made the black chrome look. I wouldn't know about those but i know a guy who got hims AMG wheels black chromed on his CLK and about a year later the edges are peeling off. maybe I'm wrong about how they got the black chrome on those FR500s. could call and ask maybe?
