Default RE: T-TOPS?!?!

ORIGINAL: mustangman02232
not sure on the 4th gens, but i know the third gens were a little more ridged with the coupe, the main reason why the 350 was only offered in a coupe and not a ttop versoin

my car has 200k on it and has never been in a garage, no leaks what so ever

BTW, i was on 84 today in a grey mach 1 near vernon
I'm sure the added supports on the sides add a little bit of rigidity, but for the everyday car lover with no frame-twisting amounts of torque I'm sure a T-top conversion on a 4th gen would be simple. That is, if you can get past the fact that you are cutting a hole in your roof. My car has 186,000 miles on it and it only leaks when it REALLY pours, and it doesn't leak that bad (only on the passenger side onto the floor in the back). But I take them off and put them on a LOT.

Here is a picture of the 4th gen F-body roof. Slice off the two supports on either side and shave off the T-top section and its done (if only haha). This website also has a tutorial on T-top conversion..
