Default buyer protection.....

Im about to buy my first mustang. A used 1999-2004 GT. Is there any specific model or year to avoid. Any crazy ridiculous recalls i should know about. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Search the TSB link at the top of the pages for recalls and such. 99-mid 01 had a different tranny that had syncro issues, mid01-04 had the Tremec 3650 which some say is a better tranny but also had syncro issues. There was a recall on the syncros and most were remedied after that recall I believe. Generally speaking they're pretty much the same cars (99-04) minus the tranny differences stated and a few styling things.

If you can afford it get a car with the 3650 trans. Even if you have zero trouble with a T-45 (fat chance) you can still run a more agressive gear with less RPM with the 3650.

Look for car with low miles. It`s also nice to have maintenance history on the vehicle if possible. Good luck.
