FR c spring installed

RE: FR c spring installed
ORIGINAL: stanggt99
I didn't think it would be that low either. Maybe because it's a 99, they sit higher in the front stock.
Ilove them though. They ride 10 times beter than stock, I also can notice difference in handleing at high speeds.
As far as the rest of the suspention goes it's stock. That's why I went with the C springs. They will lower the car without doing anything else.
Did you know that the stock brake pads on a 99 gt are ceramic? When Idid the springs I replaced the front pads. At least I saved a little money, I didn't need an alinment because wejust split the front ball joints and lowered the swing arm to get at the spring.(also had to unbolt the sway bar )
Thanks for the comments.Any suggestions on the stripes?

RE: FR c spring installed
from my stock springs to the c springs they rode better(my opinion)
bumps are the same you just have to watch how big the bump is
it's hard to get used to how much lower it is

RE: FR c spring installed
1- jacked car and put on jack stands (did rear first because there easyer)
2-took of wheels in front
3-unbolted swaybar
4-loosenednut on ball joint under strut(don't take off)
5-take a tuning fork and split the ball joint from the lower control arm(mine was easy, they came apart because there new.) also be careful not to damage therubber boot on the ball joint.
6-take jack and place it under control arm and jack up and remove nut on ball joint. carefully lower control arm and the spring comes right out(the strut will hold everthing else up.)
7-put new spring in and jack back up but be careful lining up sway bar bolt.
8-put nut back on ball joint and swaybar with nylon bushing and tighten everything up
good to go also good idea to greaseeverything that needs befor no squeaks
drive and listen for noises
thats the way i did it but that may not work for everyone
i sure i left out a lot of steps but i didn't want to be that long
if you want to do it the different way were youmess with the struts got to
Mustangworld.com click on how-to-dos and scroll down to the spring install
thanks hope that helps
i knew i should have taken pics
