Default heater case removal

i've got a 96 mustang, 4.6, and i just can't get the heater case out. i've looked at my chilton andtaken allthe bolts and nuts out, but the case just wont come out. anyone ever taken it out before? or know of another site to look at?

yeah, the whole box is supposed to come out as an assembly, the only reason i need to take it out is to reattach one of the coolant lines to the heater, i bent it off when i put the new motor in.

am i looking at this picture right? do you have to take the dash out to get the heater case out?

Yes, you'll have to pull the dash to get the whole squirrel cage and heater assembly out. There are a lot of small bolts holding it in place so keep checking untill it is loose enough to lift out without resistance. You DON"T want to break the dash or pad. If you need pics, I have some from the dash pull and the heater on the floor after we yanked it.
