Default 99 cobra

Im new to using this site and I joined in hopes that I could gain some knowledge on my 99 cobra. I know the basics already but am mostly interested in what bolt-ons show the best bang for the buck. I have owned a few musclecars (a 96 camaro SS lastly) but this is my first cobra. I really need more power!! As I love this car my SS did put it to shame but I am hopeing that wont be the case for too long. PLEASE HELP! Also, I really dont think I want to supercharge the car because my ultimate goal for it is twin turbos however cant really afford to spend 10K right now!

Well gears is probably the first thing ya want to do. May I ask why you went from a SS to this car? I would love to have a 99 Cobra but the SS was probably much better for modding wise. To get a N/A 99 Cobra to run some nice times will take probably full bolt ons, Exhaust/cams etc.

WTF. You thought the SS came out in 97? The SS moniker for chevy vehicles has been around about 40 years.

no, thats just how they were factory rated. all LT1s were about 275 hp... ish.in all fbodies that I am aware of z28=ss. its just a looks package. maybe some suspension as with the TA/ws6

dont forget about the lt4 which he might have had, they had 310 hp and were pretty fast cars. but the 99 cobra shouldnt be that slow, maybe ur driving should be called into question, no offense, the cobra is a 3500 lb vehicle while the f body he was in was 3400 hp, also look into gears is a must, then headers and exhaust and u will c well over 20 wheel with just that. for future reference cams for that car are 13-1800 dollars. intake would be a good way to start.

good luck
