I have a 02 mustang GT convertible. My car is faster than 13.5 so the Englishtown Racetrack has blacklisted me because I need a 6 point roll bar cage. I was wondering if anyone had any advice and/or pictures of how this would look on a convertible. Any comments please write...Thanks

Proble pretty wak..jus get a lightbar n say its a rollcage..maybe theyll fall for it

Tech isn't going to fall for the light bar plan. If you plan on doing a lot of runs at that track, you're going to have to comply. I think it will look fine, maybe do a google search to see what you can find. Also, you could always try to go to a different track if any others are near you.

I live up in northern nj, there is a track up herecalled Island Dragway. Do a search, they have a website. It is aNHRA sanctioned track.
I too have a vert, an '03 with a light bar, andI have run there a few times.
I run low to mid 12's and they haven't said anything to me.
It is a NHRA rule that verts need a roll bar if they run 13.49 or less, but you knew that.

I got kicked off the track at E-town a few years ago when i did a 12.8...it sucks because i'd like to hit the track a few times a year but i'm not getting a 6 point cage. I live near Atco and haven't been there in a few years with this car so i don't know if they will give me any crap...most likely they will since they also run NHRA rules.

If you know of a really nice fabricator then a 6pointer wouldn't be hardly noticeable. It could look really nice actually. If you get a roll bar and have the fab guy make the rollcage form right up tight to that, and the back supports you could get thick foam with cloth that velcros around them kinda likt the Jeep's have. You wouldn't really see just bare metal. It would give it beefyness and look nice. If you do get a 6 point get the break away door entries(kinda pricey) but beats squezzing in and out of the driver seat. Atleast get it for the driver side.

wait i dont get it...so if u have a convertible terminator and u obviously run faster than a 13.49 then u get banned? Even though it came from the factory like that? If so, thats pretty gay.

go to SVT fourms (svt performance) and youll notice those high end cobras dont brag to much about times their bragging rights are dyno number... reason they dont get a roll cage and it comes down to who puts down more hp/tq on a dyno but the real kicker is what do you drive on all day dyno or the road
