Who would you recommend I use to buy a replacement 4.6 2v.
I'm not looking for any super-dooper built engine. I would just like a stock replacment.
Cheers

Where are you located and are you looking for a longblock or shortblock new or used?

Well, just a thought, have you considered getting a cobra or mach1 engine since you are replacing yours? They have 4 valves and the cobra engine has the forged bottom end. Not sure if the mach does, but I know the cobra does. Just a thought.

I'm not looking for any performance perks, i.e. 4v swap. I just want to replace an older worn out engine.
New, re-built or slightly used long block(30-50,000 miles) I am located in New Mexico.
Cheers

Well, Modular Power House quoted me $3,100.00, for new engine(intake to oil pan) from ford with 3yr/36,000 mile warrenty. Not sure if that's just the price for everyone. And http://www.mpsautosalvage.com/ have used one's for $1250.00 all the time. You have to call about milage and shipping because this is in Ga.
Those were the two with the lowest prices I could find here in Ga. you should just look around. I didn't think 3K for a new engine w/warrenty was too bad But they wanted $1800 for install labor and "shop supplies".
Ebay is a have good prices I just wouldn't buy from there unless it's close and I can veiw the engine and everything before I buy it.
