Underdrive pulleys + blower.....

Underdrive pulleys + blower.....
i know everyone here constantly says not to mix a S/C and UDP's....i'm just wondering why exactly...what about the pulley sizes dont mix? will you break your water pump or something? Not looking for someone to tell me "cuz you just cant...".... a lil bit of tech info would be greatly appreciated....mainly because while talking to a friend of mine at work today (who has an 01 cobra with a blower) hementioned tome that he has steeda underdrive pulleys on....
andI knowthe cobra is setup differently but I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it was ok to run a supercharger on a GT and still use the crankshaft balancer pulley (from the 3 peice UD pulley set)...
can anyone shine some light on this for me?

RE: Underdrive pulleys + blower.....
ah....any merit to the whole "able to use the crankshaft pulley from the UDP" statement? or no....
just curious as to why it works for my friends cobra....or maybe its hindering him...i dunno

With a supercharged mustang you should retain all factory pullies. If anything, on the crankshaft, get a slightly bigger pulley. That would act the same as if you had a smaller pulley on the s/c itself (create more boost). The cheapest, most reliable, and easiest way is to just keep the stock pullies and put a smaller s/c pulley on (if you want more boost) or keep the stock s/c pulley.

RE: Underdrive pulleys + blower.....
hes losing a few psi of boost... unless he put on a smaller blower pulley to equal it out... he should put the stock crank pulley and the rest on to get some more ponies out of his cobra... like say atleast 20-30 more..
