Theres a time and place for everything and yes, there is a time to mash it on an open road. The only stupid people are the ricers and 17 year olds weaving through heavy trafic or speeding up to 70 just to hit the breaks cause theres nowhere to go. Some people dont want to drag race but like the curves like me. There arnt alot of circuts the public can just drive onto. If you know of any in washingtom please tell. I didnt get a stang to go the speed limit. Its all about getting from point a to b as quickly as posible. And as safe as posible.

Hey JD. You live in the Houston area? My step brother lives there and he got banned from a track for running too fast in his stang. Hes cammed with nitrous. I think he ran an 11.3 or something the last time he went. His name is Chris Lewis. Maybe you know him...

Nope, sorry. I live further north in Killeen.

im starting to agree more and more with that, where i live in santa rosa which is sonoma county, more and more teenage accidents are happening. like 2 in the past month one in a mustang, and another one this year was in a mustang. both teenagers tho. it's ok to have fun it just has to be the right place, i know when i get my car im sure i'll drive sometimes where i could get a ticket but i'll be as safe as possible when i choose to go fast and watch carefully for cops.

anyone on this board that says they have never drove well over the speed limit and drove recklessly is a liar! everyone of us has revved our engines at a ricer and raced at sometime on a public road. yea its stupid and yea its illegal but we all do it- those are all risks that all of us take when u race or dodge in and out traffic... dont act like u have never done it.
Ok first, yes i've raced, and yes i've sped. I've done stupid **** on public roads, I now see the stupidity behind it. All the close calls, all the scared feelings I've had just adds to the stress level. I don't want to be driving from work at 9:30 at night worried about being broad sided by some idiot doing 100 on a road with a limit of 45. The last time I EVER street raced was nearly 6 months ago... I'm done with it. I sit at 5 over the speed limit going to and from work. If you don't believe me, i really could care less. All I know is I am getting badass gas mileage right now.

well 2000Si, let me congradulate you on being a gigantic @******. You are a very stupid man, first off I live in South Florida, home of the open road. Secondly, I endangered no life but my own and my passenger while g-teching, becuase the road is a seldom seen, and almost never driven on access road that was supposed to service a highway that was never built.
Truth hurts, doesn't it? You endangered your passengers life? That's also something I'd never do. I kill myself? Fine. I don't want to walk away from a race that went sour knowing my passenger, who has no control over it anyway, didn't make it out of the car alive. It's not worth it. This is why they have sanctioned, timed, legal tracks for this.

Anyway, what does what I used to do have anything to do with what you're openly admitting doing right now? I didn't say what I said to have a holier than thou attitude towards you, I said it because doing it is stupid. Whether everyone here is defending you or not, they still know that I'm right in what I'm saying.

I don't care where you live, or how open the road is, you can never be prepared for the unexpected at 100 mph, especially while you're staring at your tach and the Gtech pro.

Don't even sweat it Orange, he gets his kicks off being a *****. You'll discover this for yourself...
I wasn't being a *****. simply stating facts, and you know I'm right.

I can't believe you guys got all huffy puffy about this.
