Removing the A/C will give no hp gain since it shuts off and spins freely at WOT. The only gain is less weight.

When the A/C is off it is basically an idler pulley. I was thinking about getting rid of it while I was taking everything apart on my motor anyway, but decided not to. Is any of the A/C conections in the way when doing LTs?

Then where do the gains come from on electric water pumps? I have seen that they are good for 8 or so at the wheels.

The water pump is always working so it is always drawing power for the engine, with an electric on it uses electric power and not the engines power to turn.

Performance does not suffer because of lack of backpressure it gets better.
