A stock 98 Cobra will walk on a mildly modded 99+GT all day long

I dont agree. A modded GT is easily up with a stock Cobra.

Not suspension-wise.

It's like comparing a PI car to a non-PI car...

Even w/ a lot of bolt ons, we're still running CLOSE to what stock 99+'s run. Same deal w/ the cobra... 45 hp difference...and w/ bolt ons you'll be close, but still not as fast, ESP if he has full exhaust.

Stock vs full boltons a GT is gonna rape the 98, both of them with the same modifications the cobra is going to win.

BTW the suspension on the cobra isn't going to make any difference in a drag race, unless we are talking a road race here. Hell I dont remeber exactly when they came in but im thinking the 98 still has the stick axle just like the GT.

Default RE: Who is taking this home?

quick google search?

1998 Cobra (0-60) 5.4 (1/4) 14

1999 Cobra (0-60) 5.4 (1/4) 13.9

1999 GT (0-60) 5.5 (1/4) 14.1
Just something I found on google? guess it would be a drivers race! I know that when 5.0+SF tested a '99 cobra, '01 Bullitt, and an '03 mach 1 the cobra was the slowest!

They got:

Cobra 13.62 @ 105.2
Bullitt 13.59 @ 102.4
Mach 1 13.19 @ 106.7

UUUMMMMM???? The cobra trapped higher than the bullitt but was still slower? They said this was becasue it had drop springs on it? Hey MD does that sound right?

He said both cars have exhaust. The Cobra will waste the GT. Try as it may, a 16v will never catch an equally modded 32v.

I agree I have a 98 Cobra and have raced a few 99 up gt's and walked all over them
