Default Yet another gear question. Which ratio?

Getting new gears next week or week after.I have stock 3.27 now. 2002 GT with 43K on it. 90% of my driving is highway. I am torn now between 3.73, 3.90 or maybe 4.10. I am not all that concerned about gas mileage. I won't be doing any racing at all. Just every day use. I was leaning toward 3.73 but now I am thinking 3.90 or 4.10. I got the RPM calculator and figured our all the difference between the gear ratio's. Anyone with 3.73 wish they have 4.10's or vise versa. Any input will help me out because I am only doing this once. Thanks....

Copied and pasted from an active thread:

Here is what FRPP has to say about gear recomendations. I copied this from their FAQ's page.

Q.: I have heard that an axle gearset change is a very effective way to increase performance in my Mustang. What gear ratio do you advise that I use?

A.: 1986-95 Mustangs with a 5.0 and a 5-speed work well with 3.55 gears.
1986-95 Mustangs with a 5.0 and an automatic work well with 3.73 gears.
1996-2003 Mustangs with a 4.6 SOHC and a 5-speed work well with 3.73 gears.
1996-2003 Mustangs with a 4.6 SOHC and automatic work well with 4.10 gears.
1996-2001 Mustang Cobras with the 4.6 DOHC/5-speed work well with 3.73s.

Note: The above suggestions are general recommendations. Gear-ratio selections may change depending on modifications to your engine. For specific applications, call the FRPP Tech "Hot Line" (800) FORD788 for professional advice.
If you have an automatic, 4.10's no question. Many people here got 3.73's and wish for bigger.

Get the 4.10s because you'll regret the 3.73s like I did. I have 4.10s at the house, but just paying off some bills first before I pay the labor for the gears.

Well, you got me leaning toward the 4.10's now. I just hope my RPM's on the highway aren't too high. Having a stick and 5th gear helps a lot. I forgot to mention that. I do just about all my driving in 5th gear anyway.
