I think SHM sells .040 over's, but you don't wanna go more than .020

and you can stroke it to a 5.0 - 5.1 - and without any block clearancing. Alum blocks can be bored and sleaved to run 5.0 liters with the stock stroke - but its expensive.

not sure on size but i know VT does a bunch with stroker kits and big bore kits. a buddy i know helped me build my car is stroking and boring his out to 337 or something crazy like that. the other guy has a 4.6 stroked and 20 over bore to a 5.0 liter.

For the money you are going to pay to have it done... what is HP output?

HP output depends on the application. one example i can think of is a buddy of mine has the stroker kit from VT. small bore like 20 over and big stroke altogether its a 5.0 now. he has a ported bullit intake, single blad TB. ported and polished heads. SICK cams something like 602 on the lift? serial number 1 form crower. vortect s-trim pushing 13- 14 pounds, aftercooled. hes got something lie 820 at the fly? but then again his car makes me wet my pants....from speed and the money hes thrown under the hood.

How come only .020 over? I think I read somewhere that its somthing to do with the gasket? but I dont understand how that would effect it so much? I was just thinkn because of the sleeve? Whats acctually involved in stroking it to a 5.0? Like I know the rods will change (not sure to was size?) but does that also mean the crank will have to change?? And by without clearancing do you mean no worry of the valves punching holes in pistons?

you can go all the way up to .040 over, but that is cutting it close. as the cylinder walls are getting thin, and could possibly flex under high boost. SHM reccomends nothing over .030, especialy on an iron block. aluminum block, yes. You can go .040 maybe more. it has alot more material and webbing. I believe federal mogul makes pistons for all the over bore sizing.
