the 99, 01 cobra's lose to mach1's due to gearing and the crappy irs they came with, (as stated above) they have a bit more power but it doesnt make up for the wheel hop they will experience. the 03 + cobra's, even without the sc would give the mach1 a run for its money cause of the improved irs.

+1 Mach1

The Mach1 has 03/04 Cobra heads which are some of the best flowing heads around, the exhaust side flows better than the FR500 at every lift level.

There is a large weight difference between the two just because of the IRS. The gear difference also helps greatly. The cams are still the same with .397" lift.

Things can also change as Ford has different exhaust cams from each side and timing can be far out as well. It depends on the factory tune and the driver, but almost always the Mach1 will win. Not to mention I think the car is just a lot more attractive

Now the downer.... The Mach1 has a block that is only good for about 600hp before the block itself starts to fail, the Cobra block is an aluminum design prior to the Mach1's and can handle 1200hp when prepped propperly.

In that case I would go with the cobra. I was a little disappointed in the auto mach that I drove at a dealership.

I'll bite because I tend to agree. Any examples in this thread?
