Default need sum tech advice

okay so my car battery died for 5 mins. and then was able to start up after i check the conncetions... so i decide to go buy a new battery... after i change to the new battery the car starts up but with sum problems ....when im idleing it either stalls out or the rmps drop to 0 and jump up and the car jumps even when holding on the brake.....im only guessing its my alternator is the problem ....any feed back on this will help thanks

If you suspect the alternator get it tested........local auto stores will usually do this for free...then you would know for sure...maybe recheck the power and especially the ground connections to see if the are coroded and clean them

I had this exact same problem about 4 days ago and I found a short at the alternator. I replaced the alt and it went away.

Look for a electrical short, burning smell, etc etc. My car was idling like **** and the RPM was dancing badly too.

All those electrical sensors don't like voltage spikes or drops and they'll do funny things.
