Sorry typing is not one of my strong points
I had a local shop put a tubro on my 07 gt
They put it on there dyno ran it up to 140 mph and 400 hp and 400tq. The car had 3500 miles on it.
When I left there shop I maded it 8 miles and threw a rod.

Yeah, that was a really bad idea. New engines need to be broken in! Especially when you are pushing the limits of a cast shortblock with a turbo. I'm not sure if I would blame the shop, you or some random guy down the street. You should not have put the turbo on and the shop should not have installed it. The guy down the street is just my default scapgoat.

People put power adders on new motors all the time. Stang2000 did and so did Mylongvictor. You read about magazines doing it to cars all the time as well. I'm leaning towards another problem. 3500 should have been enough but every motor is different. Perhaps next time lower the boost for a further break in period.

I think that a new engine would be more prone to throwing a rod if the A/F wasn't dialed in properly than a well borken-in engine. But, beyond that... it should have been safe.

Can anyone think of a conceivealbe reason for running a car to 140 mph on a dyno? Most tuners I know or have heard of don't tune cars in 5th gear. What I suspect happened is that you are the first turbo they have installed in an '07 and they played to see how much it could take.It sucks, but it does happen.
