Default Ethanol fuel

Does anyone know if you can use ethonal fuel in a supercharged Mustang ?[/align]The octane rating is 103.[/align]

I don't think you can use 100% Ethanol fuel on any vehicle unless the vehicle was made to take it. I know some of the new Tahoe's run on Gas and E85 Ethanol.

it will eat away at the rubber parts of your fuel system and requires more fuel to release the same power....not worth it

not sure, car came with the p-1 and a fairly good tune, so i havnt really bothered with a dyno. After putting my own touch on the car (exhaust etc) im hoping for some good numbers, bout to find out next weekend

Octane is only part of the equation, gallon for gallon ethanol has only about 65% of the "energy density" of gasoline so you have to squirt in a lot more of it to achieve a proper mixture--the amount needed to achieve similar power output is around 1.6 times the amount of gasoline required.[/align][/align]This is one of the things the ethanol pushers won't tell you, to travel as far as 10 gallons of gas will take you, you'll need 15-16 gallons of ethanol (E-85's a bit better but you'll still need almost 1-1/2 times as much)...[/align]
