your both getting off topic, this was discussing using additives, so respond with yes or no and why if you dioagree fine, until someone is going to show some evidence then just take it as opinions. yes you are going to get better gas from a name brand most times which brand is better depends on the area sea level and the car how its tuned and what grade octane you run. some bodys car might run great with 87 octane from shell and crappy from bp and someone can run great with 93 from bp and crappy from shell. now we appreciate your dads experience but again that does not tell us what brand to use or whether to use additives, every 1500 miles is overkill, i would probly back it down to 10,000 at the least maybe 30,000.
but again just do what works for you the general opinion is save your moeny but if you like the way your car runs and you have the extra money go ahead.

but to sit here and fight over the internet like children is stupid. ok you don't wanna believe him and he doesn't like that. now no offense to anyone but you make outrageous claims and people won't believe you. now it might be true idk. i do not know you. if it is ok personally i don't care. but if he wants to sayu he works at a gas station and they do that let him and let the thread prgress on topic. stop flaming the thread going back and forth. and to be makin physical threats over the internet really makes you sound mature. if you didnt know.

all in all..........save your money and use it a lil more scarcely, but yes it can't hurt your car just your wallet.

oh im sure it goes through plenty of tests.. thats how it got contaminated haha. Once you fill the tanker with the gas, it isnt exposed to any other outside element not even when it is pumped into the ground when it arrives. The DOT regulates every tanker flush after EVERY trip.. AKA after you drive the gasoline and deliver it, before it is filled again.. it is flushed. I know this seeing how i have a CDL and make several trips a month to California Refineries from Las Vegas. And if you would like to try to kick a veteran who was done 2 tours in Iraq, then good luck to you sir.

ok, i used a fuel additive when i first got the car back. I did notice the car had a bit of a kick to it for a while (dont they use jetfuel in that stuff?), but once i filled it up again, everything felt normal. Maybe the kick was from the clean filter tho?

Anyway, the only gas stations i go to are Noco, and Sunoco, i dunno which one is better, cause i havent noticed any big difference.

I use Chevron gas everytime I fill up, about once a month I put a small bottle of Lucas fuel treatment in it. When I add the treatment I get about 1-2mpg more than I usually do, so based on my personnal experiences, I'd have to say the Lucasworks atleast, but even the Lucas bottle say's to not use it at every fill up.

physical threats from an 18 year old on the internet dont bother me.. As far as fuel additives the best one to use in my experience is Seafoam. I dont know about the ones that say they contain "jet fuel" but when i used seafoam, i didnt experience an extra 5mpg or anything drastic. just a smooth idle.. probably an extra 15 miles per tank and when i swiched the heads out, they were alot cleaner than i would have expected. Seafoam will run you about 10 bucks depending on where you get it.

so what gas companies are the best to go to in your dad's eye? i always use sunoco because it seems to make my car run best. sheetz gas sucks!
He says most of the name brand gas is pretty much the same. Here in Colorado, Shell uses more fuel additives than say Valero, Conoco, etc. I have personally not heard of the top tier gas or stations myself, I will have to ask my Dad. In all honesty, as long as you use the brand name stations like Shell, Conoco, Sunoco, Valero, BP, etc and stay away from the smaller, no name gas stations, you will be fine.

Chevron Techron 91 Octane FTW. Techron will give you plenty of nice deposit killing power.

conoco phillips and shell have always been pretty good gas, havent had any problems. i used to use texaco but i havent seen them around recently... worst gas is probably citgo (f250 hates their gas) and bp (mustang idles rough with theirs)
