Fuel additives

RE: Fuel additives
I personally wouldn't waste my money on any additives. The fuel that you get out of the pumps already has fuel additives that prevent carbon buildup, prevents clogging fuel injectors, and overall keeps your fuel system clean. There are some gas companies that use more additives than others, but overall, the gas that you put in your car, regardless where you get your gas, has all the additives to keep your fuel system clean. My dad has worked at an oil refinery for over 35 years making the fuel that we all put in our cars. He and his coworkers say the additives that you can get on the shelves is a waste of money. That's just my $0.02.

RE: Fuel additives
the only time id run fuel injector cleaner (besides seafoam) is if the car is running rough.. i start rulling out the cheapest problems before anything else. i wouldnt say the oil companies add alot of those additives i head chevron adds the equivelent of 2-5 bottles of fuel injector cleaner per 1000 gallons. But i would still save my money. Every oil change is a bit overkill

Well of course it depends on where you buy gas from... Their is top teir rated gas ...which is what you should be using... And then there is the others which is just the bottom of the barrel crap...
My whole family used this little no name gas station because it was right by my house and all in the same month my car, my dads car, and my moms all threw a code! Took them all to autozone and they told us it was a gas related problem..... So i only use the top teir rated gas which does in fact have plenty of additives.
