I may be wrong but, I'm pretty sure that is the transverse or quad shock. It is not really needed unless you like the twisties. I'm taking mine off this weekend.

Those are quad shocks. They are there to stop wheel hop (axle windup) Dont get rid of them unles you upgrade your control arms.

I bought upper and lower rear control arms from summit, and picked up new shocks for the rear. So I can just throw that "quad shock" out right? I took my wheels off, and that **** was killin my wider radialstoo.
