Default noise comming from engine

Hey guys,

There is weird noise coming from the frontdash, could be from engine. It sounds likethe timing belt activating something (or some sort of belt). Could that be the AC? Even though myAC and air is not on?

It's worst on hot days.

AndI feel like my engine is loosing power each time.

Does anybody else have that problem?

2003 GT

You have timing chains.

When does it happen? Driving? Idle?

Need a little more info...

Idleand driving.

It happens a lot.

Ifeel it'sthe only thing that interferes with the idle other than AC

could that be why the belt is constantly activating something?

What kind of sound is it?? I'm not sure what you mean by "belt activating." Is it chirping, or squealing?? Is it a clunking, or tapping?? Does it sound like popcorn, or marbles in your engine??

hahaha. ok

First I hear a sorta deep sound like somebody would hit my front dash with the head of a screwdriver. That's coming near the passenger(middle)front dash engine area.

Afterwards you hear the engine working a bit more and the lost of power.

Guys, I appreciate all this help. I actually went to ford mentioning this and they checked it out. All theysaid was that my AC was starting. Also, they said that this was normal even if the AC was not on.

But nobody seams to have noticed this on theirs. And believe me, you know it if this happened to you, the idle change, plus the noise.

WhenI turn the AC on, i never hear that starting noise. Also,I never hear squealing.
