Stang Withdraw
Well its been a month and 10 days now since I lost my 02 gt to the auto body shop. I hit black ice and chopped a phone pole in half. The insurance company wouldent total the car, even though its about $13000 in damages... The claims adjuster first gave me a check for $8000. Which would cover the repairs, but a week later I get real bad news, my firewall is cracked, so it has to be replaced. Well to replace the firewall the auto body tech. had to pull my motor and trans, and send my frame and body to a frame shop. The auto body shop is just getting my body and frame back tomrrrow. The owner of the frame shops mom has died so he wasnt able to work on the car for weeks. The auto body tech is finally going to be able to work on my body now. He has to put a new roof, new front bumper, new fender, new hood, new windshield, bend my axel back, put a new intake on, new radiator brackets, new off road h pipe, paint the new body parts, paint the rear bumper, paint racing strips on, (the stripeswere vinyl beforethe accident) put my engine and transmission back in... Crazy So... How long do you guys think its going to be untill the stang will live again? Heres some pics

RE: Stang Withdraw
Id go with about a month or so... mabey a bit less depending on the speed of the body shop... a really, REALLY good shop could do it in a week! If I were you id sell her once shes done though.. good thing is she wont have a salvage title, and it is VERY likely nothing will show up in CarFax! You are rolling the dice in keeping it! It COULD be just as good as new... but with all that work I think selling her off is the best option! She will look new and un-molested! Yes... you will be pawning her off to be someone elses trouble... but honestly... if you ask me... 13k sounds like a LOW estimate for that! New Firewall? Full paint? Roof repair... frame repair... etc. etc. That car should be totalled IMOP! I had a 97 Camaro that should have been totalled, but they fixed it... nothing but little troubles caused by the wreck afterwards!
