What does this do if anything.. Does it hurt you in any way?? Is there any kind of tutorial on this??

 

I removed mine, its been so long ago that i dont remember exactly how i did it! I think i used side cuts and cut/pulled the metal screen out.

 

not being rude at all but the search function is very usefull on stuff like this, the screen was there to "smooth" out the air flow to go on theMAF sensor for a more accurate reading. i removed mine when i bought the car and a CAI and havent had problems since

 

mine is removed, haven't had any problems yet, & don't think i will either

 

Oh yeah and no problems out of mine yet either.

 

Do a search. There have been at least 3 threads in the last month about this. In a nut shell, there is really no harm in removing it if you seal the union between the MAF and filter housing.

 

took mine off when i did CAI it wouldn;t fit back on mine with the CAI no prob. so far =)
