there has been a lot of posts on here about can i beat this car. who cares? i know i know...a lot of you guys do. but there is more to having a ride than going fast. would you rather have your mustang and lose to a del sol (ugliest car ever) or have things the other way around?

Who cares.... It is still a Del Sol. If I wanted, I could have bought a CRX and dumped $10,000 into it for pure speed but that would have been ridiculous.

Hes gonna crush you sorry. My SRT-4 had 313 WHP, and I hung with a terminator with a headers back exhaust. He only pulled about a car from my front bumper to his rear bumper. Afterwards we both pulled over, and he said I gave him a little scare at first .

You don't stand a chance.

you gotta hand it to those little motors tho what they lack in volume they make up in weight. i wouldnt mind building up a german car down the line when gas is almost gone

It's possible to get those numbers out of that car but VERY,VERY difficult and unlikely. Don't believe everything this kid tells you. Those kind of numbers on a 4 cylinder take months of planning, building and tunnig. My friend has been building a turbo H22 on his prelude for like a year and is nowhere near those numbers. (By the way the H22 is a 2.2L and the del sols have a little 1.6L)
ur buddy doesnt know what hes doing then cause my buddy's got a pink primered H22 prelude with a turbo thats putting down 423 at the wheels. Very possible indeed.

This is what I say to people when they talk smack; I'll see it when I believe it.

350HP isn't uncommon from boost happy 4-cylinders, but it definitely is NOT easy. And that is a very large number to throw around for such a car.

Don't let him talk about it. Let him get the turbo kit and overhaul. But make sure you get some decent modifications under your belt before you start putting any money down!

But +1 to jusnkris - I could care less if I get beaten by your four cylinder; atleast I still have my back seats and air conditioning!

I used to run with the Import crew when I had my SRT-4. Unforunately my Mustang is too slow to hang with them now. Theres a kid with a del sol running only 4 PSI, and putting down 323 WHP however his torque is really low. Once his motor is built he will be running 16 PSI. Once you go FI with those cars they are high 12 second cars with low boost.

If he can get anything over 300 whp you'll get stomped. Those things are so light that you're gonna need a huge power advantage to overcome the weight issue.I just looked up the curb weight on those things and it says 2301 lbs. Thats over a 1000 lb. difference in the cars..so you do the math.
