Default blowers

a guy on another forum told me that "centri blowers are faster and make more power"

I thought that twin screw make the most power??

They put their power down in different areas of the powerband. Also I have been told that a centri will have a higher peak power output. But that is way up in the rpm's. You feel a twin screw's power way down low making it feel like it's making more power even though it's making the same or a little less.

This has been discussed to death but...

centi blowers don't build boot until around 3k rpm's but usually have a little bit more hp potential
twin screw blowers react to throttle position so you pretty much always have full boost available but usually overall have just a little bit less hp potential.

this is alsocomparing the twoblowers at their full potential... but an otherwise stock mustang can not handle either blower at it's full potential.

thanks, Yea I was just making sure, we dont need to discuss it. I learned all I have from these forum discussions lol, but on another forum a guy was asking what to do for power, and someone recommended a centri, but I recommended twin turbos or a twinscrew, (instead of a centri) and thats exactly what he told me. he goes "your wrong handyandy....centris blah blah " so I explained how twinscrews make power all the way through so they are INSTANT, instead of spooling.

ive always heard that centri blowers are capable of a little bit more power..but i could be wrong. The KB's are full of potential though. My Vortech will be just fine until i get my motor done.

MPH is making 920hp on modded stock head 2V with a K/B 2.8. So don't let anyone tell you K/B's don't make power on the top end. Its all a matter of preference and the amount of money you want to spend so I say they are all good.

could i run a supercharger on my 99 GT that has 80k on it, i mean would it be worth it with that many miles? i know the engine has allot of life left in it, runs great but would the supercharger make its life allot shorter? id only want to run low boost what kinda HP would be reasonable to go for with my engine in a daily driver... 300-350hp?

As long as your engine is in good shape I don't see why not. Just don't go to crazy with it 350rwhp sounds very reasonable. Running a S/C at that psi should not shorten your engine life as long as your not on the throttle all the time. That Mongoose setup at MPH should get you in that range for the least amount of money.

Centris don't "spool". You simply do not make real amounts of boost before 3K or so.

Its a common misconception that they acutally spool up like a turbo, but its simply not the case. If you start off at 3000+ RPM the centri will instantly make the same boost it would have if you started off lower.

That is to say, lets say you make 6 PSI at 4K RPMs. If you start off with the clutch out at 4K but not flooring it, and then go WOT the boost will instantly go to 4k.

Honestly, I don't see what all the to do is about the KB blowers. Starting from 1st gear, even if your idling along with the clutch out at 1k, it takes about .1 to get into boost. If your in another gear (roll racing) all you have to do is make sure your in your powerband... thats why they make transmissions that allow you to select what gear your in. If your starting off your roll racing at 2500 RPM your a moron anyway

Here is a video I made trying to show what I am talking about. I made this right after I got the vortech on, as the centri vs twin screw debate was going HOT back then, and everyone (well everyone that hasn't acutally been in a centri car thats properly setup) thought that centris "spool" or act like a improperly sized turbo :
