You don't NEED every bolt-on, just some well thoughout ones. I'd say 4.10's, drag radials, control arms, longtubes & full exhust, CAI & Pullies should do it.

I don't know man, I don't see it.

Stock LS1's have run in the 12's. I don't see an exhaust, pullys, and a CAI doing it.
4.10's would help, but don't try to race anyone on the highway.
I had 3.91's in my Roadrunner and 4.11's in my GTO and it blew billygoats tring to drive the car to work down the highway, The Roadrunner was a 4-Speed and the GTO was a TH400, so the trans in the Mustang would help bring the RPM's down some.

I had a 95 LT1 that I threw an exhaust on, along with a CAI, fiberglass hood, shift kit, and a set of 3.73 gears.
My friend had a stock 00 Z28 with a 6-speed. I was on better tires and could get him in 60' times, and maybe to 1/4 track or so, by then he would be comming on strong and shoot on by me. At half track the times were within a few tenths but he was 4-5MPH faster than me. I don't recall full track speeds, but he was running very low 13's.....STOCK.

Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but a Mustang going 12's with just 4.10's, drag radials, control arms, longtubes & full exhust, CAI & Pullies.....I would need to see it for myself.

Weren't you scrubbing 13.2-13.4 with full bolt-ons?

I haven't seen a "Stock" LS1 run 12's.

He said Z28...Not the SS/WS6...Those are the only car's i've seen to hit low to mid 13's...The 00 Z28 happens to be a high 13 second car around 13.8@103-104...I think he would only need CAI and a full Exhaust to be able to run with a Z28 in the quarter.. But after the quarter is a different story...Those LS1's have a killa topend....

4.10 gears would be a terrible choice...Your right about that....It's very hard on your car if your a daily driver....I would just leave the gears alone or if he truly wants to modify it...Get some 3.55..

GM High-Tech Performance magazine, and also Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine have each run a high twelve bone stock on stock tires. GMHTP did it with a Z-28 and MMFF did it with an SS. MMFF went as far to say that if it had'nt been super humid that day, a 12.7 was not out of the question.
I have both magazines at home, I can probably find the issue numbers if you want.

This is a very common myth. An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1....they all dyno nearly identical numbers.

I've seen those articles...there on stangbangers.com

MMFF have been known to get some crazy times out of their cars...Here's some of there times....from various cars

01 GT 13.7@101
03 Cobra coupe 12.54@115
04 Cobra Vert 12.77@111

I really don't know what to think about those guys....either they have the worlds best drivers or those times are bogus...But i've seen that article about the SS running high 12's.....put i've never seen a Z-28 run anything faster than a 13.8....Their about the same as a 04 SRT-4...

I thought WS6/LS1's have different exhaust as well....I know the intake happens to be slightly modified...Meaning ram air and all...
