Default Shaker hood questions

I have a 04 black mustang GT and as of right now i am stock. I have about 1000 to spend and was thinking about getting the shaker hood like a mach. I know it will look pretty good but im wondering if the performance gains would be any good? Different sound? anything? Basically im just wondering if its worth the money. People have told me to get an exhaust but i'm going to wait to get any exhaust until i get more mods. Also, does anyone know if installation is hard for the shaker? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Don't spend money in a shaker, you will get more power just by adding a CAI. If you get a CAI get a TB and a plenum thats money well spend. The shaker is more for the look.

Exhaust should be your first mod. If you start doing thins to put more air into the motor you need to be able to get it out quicker or it doesnt do you much good. Plus exhaust is probably the coolest mod because of the sound you get.

Shaker hood looks great but does not do much for performance as the Mach 1 still has its other intake box in the engine compartment as well, the shaker is just a supplement.

The only reason the Mach makes 305hp is because it has the Cobra 32v DOHC engine, the shaker is mainly for looks.

The mach1 motor is not a cobra motor, and usually they make closer to 325 hp.

The shaker hood isn't there for looks, it's there to allow more cold air to the EFI 32 valve engine. With a 16 valve engine on your GT, you aren't going to notice any difference. Spend your money on performance upgrades, and not looks.

The best looking hood for your car is a Saleen S281E hood. Not even close.
