I have a 2003 Mustang GT and would like to get Flowmaster standard 40s but all my search results show cat back exhausts come with Super 40s... I really would rather have interior sound than performance... Are standard 40s only for old cars or something? Thanks!

I dont think they ever made a full catback with 40's. You can just buy the mufflers and have an exhaust shop run 2 1/2" piping from the mufflers back with tailpipes.

The American Thunder catback comes with regular 40 series. Atleast it always used to.

It might, but some people, like me, probably hear "American Thunder" and dont think its the 40 series.

Flowmaster started using Super 40's quite a while ago it seems. My car-back is at least 18 mos. old and it has Supers. The Supers are just a better muffler, performance and sound wise IMO[8D]

Thanks for the responses! I'd rather have the 40s because people tell me its louder inside the car where the Super 40s specifically are advertised lower sound inside the car.

I've had the Delta 40's, then the original 40's and now th Super 40's. The sound up in the car is pretty much the same but the Super's sound much better at WOT with an X-pipe IMO[8D] The Delta's and originals went kinda flat around 3000rpm, where the Super's have a much better/louder tone up top
