99 Cobra!?!?!?!

99 Cobra!?!?!?!
Alright guys,
I keep switching from the LS1 to the 4.6 4v. I got a question.....
Were pretty much all Cobra fixed through recall in 1999, because of the lack of power? If so what kind of #'s am I looking at on the track, and on the dyno? With a few mods can I got 300WHP?
I am looking to go with 4.10s/3.90s, LongTubes, Catted H Pipe, Cat-Back, K&N Drop In, and a Coil Pack + a Tune. What am I looking to put at the ground?
Also is the transmission/rear end any stronger then the GTs?
Thanks Fellas.

I dont kow how much power you will put down....but stock you should run mid-high 13 ish......and most of them are fixed, i think you can tell in fords computer system, it tells you which are fixed. The rearend is IRS, I think, but they hold around the same power as the GTs before they snap.

RE: 99 Cobra!?!?!?!
i dunno the numbers but the cobra is much better car in driving and handling. My best friend has a 98 camaro ss its one bad *** car (ram air,lt's,slp exhaust, gears, and 2days ago a big cam i think it would give a 04 cobra a run for its money but the cobras drive and handle 10 times better. Besides in 10 years the cobra will be more of a collectors car if not already. I feel like im laying down while riding in the camaro

I wouldn't worry about the recall, most im sure are done, but it's alwasy good to check, i have the receipts still from when the first owner preformed the recall. Most people say the cobra would put down 270-285rwhp stock, but somewhere (can't remember) someone dyno'd 300rwhp on an after-cat and filter.
If your choosing gears, i'm going to leave it to you, but if your chosing between two ratios so close together, your probably gonna seeeither a 200 rpm differenceor a little more pep...your choice
As for all the mods listed, unless your dead set on coil packs you wont need them til thestockones quit,as for everything else you should be good for 320-330rwhp (im not the best estimator either)
The transmission and rear is a different story though, if your coming from a 2001+ GT, then the transmissions weaker, but then again, im probably around 450rwhp and havn't had any problems yet (knock on wood) and the rear end has some pretty weak axles (28 spline as opposed to 2001+ 31 spline) but again, i have had no problems on the stockers
In the end, you'll see better numbers out of the ls1 but im willing to say you'll see 12's on what you got planned and a good set of tires

I want a 12 second street driven street tire car. I don't know what would be cheaper a Cobra, or a LS1.
