Hi Everyone. Ive just joined the forum and Im looking to buy a 99/01 Mustang. I know absolutly nothing about cars. Ive done a lot of research on the models above and find that there seems to be a major engine issue with these years. Can anyone give me any info on what the issues are. The 99/00 models are my favorites but I want a car thats reliable. Anything would help. Thank you

 

I have an 02 GT with VERY FEW problems. It's an excellent bang for the buck. It's gonna take a lot of close inspection. On 99-01 models, be sure to check if the water passage on the intake has been converted to aluminum. if not, it could crack and be really expensive to fix. other than that just check out the TSB's and recalls on the particular model you're looking for. that will help you know what to look for. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!

 

i love my 99. no issues yet and has 80 grand on her odometer. runs like the day it cmae off the line
