Default slp x-pipe question 97 mustang gt

New to the forums and hoping for a little advice. I have a 97 mustang gt with 85k miles that has been kept pretty much stock until around 80k. At that point a Borla catback system was installed. Then, decided to make the jump to an x-pipe, sopurchaseda slp x-pipe (w/cats). Not being much of mechanic (unfortunately), i took the x-pipe to the local shop that installed the catback system. They claimed they could not install the x-pipe because even though it had cats(2), it didn't have 6 cats as the stock pipe does. Is this fairly typical for a shop--what have others done when getting their xpipes installed? I'm not sure if there is any welding involved.....might be able to grab a few guys and see if a group of a few of us could tackle it. Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks!

yea that shop is gay. Go to a different shop.. There is no welding involved what so ever when installing an x-pipe.

Yeah, thanks appreciate the response....Ended up checking around and got another very cool small shop to knock it out--not a problem. Went with the slp x-pipe (w/cats)...sounds pretty good with the borla catback. will try to get a sound clip together...

Amazing choice. I have the Borla Stingers and SLP Catted X pipe on my 02 GT and absolutely love it.

I love it. I doubt it did much for me, but I love the way it looks underhood. Here are a few pics that I snapped of it....

I think it will look much better under there when I get around to putting my BBK 75mm throttle body and plenum on.
