I seriously doubt your car can go that fast. My bud in a 2003 Turbo T/A with 495 RWHP can only hit 160-170 hp in 6th gear before he gets unstable and the car pretty much stops pulling. the cars are similar enough, that I'm betting you'd see a best of about 160 mph. on the other hand, another bud in a 98 S/C Vette can go 150 mph in 4th and still have 5th and 6th to play with. He's just too scared to run it any faster.
I'm trying to find a vid of Top Gear where they took a new Bugati to 253 mph. It took 1001 RWHP to get it there. Kinda puts things into perspective.

as for the OP, I don't think its safe for a mustang (a streetable, stock bodied stang) to be going much past 150 mph.....had you tried this on, say an airstrip, I bet you could get up to 165-170 mph

the gear calculator merely gives the potential of each gear. IF his car had the power to push it that fast his gears would allow him to reach the speed given by the calculator. it only tells speed at a certain RPM nothing about how fast a car can go only the potential.

I have never shifted into 5th at that speed, that's why I'm asking if anyone has ever shifted into 5th after topping out in 4th. You'd probably wouldn't get much past 4000 rpmI would guess.
