Default topped out in 5th

I have an '03 vert 5 speed with a Novi 2000 and 373's, among other mods.
Question for someone with the same... when going ***** out in 5th gear, at what rpm does it stop accelerating???
This may sound like a stupid question, but I have a good reason to ask.

when you run out of road or you blow your motor...in theory you should accelerate into your redline and at some point the motor will have a failure...how fast are you trying to go?

I'm not actually going to try it, I was just wondering if I would be limited by drag or some other force of nature.
I calculated that at 6050rpm in 5th, I would be going 200mph.
We all know that ain't gonna happen, that's whyI wanted to know at what RPM the car would stop accelerating.
Once again, I have my reasons for asking such a stupid sounding question.
Thank you in advance for not calling me an *******. LOL!!

did you do that on the gear calculator thing, because im pretty sure its way off. Ive only heard of a couple of mustangs to go 200mph. One ran the silver state challenge, it had crazy aerodynamic modification to keep it stable at those speeds. The complete underside was smoothed over and it sat maybe a couple inches off the ground. Regardless at those speeds aerodynamics would start to play a bigger role than the power. I would think after 160-170+ it would really have trouble accelerating.

aerodynamics would not allow your car to go that fast, even with the blower.

Your stock driveshaft won't let you go that fast

I seriously doubt your car can go that fast. My bud in a 2003 Turbo T/A with 495 RWHP can only hit 160-170 hp in 6th gear before he gets unstable and the car pretty much stops pulling. the cars are similar enough, that I'm betting you'd see a best of about 160 mph. on the other hand, another bud in a 98 S/C Vette can go 150 mph in 4th and still have 5th and 6th to play with. He's just too scared to run it any faster.

I'm trying to find a vid of Top Gear where they took a new Bugati to 253 mph. It took 1001 RWHP to get it there. Kinda puts things into perspective.

Ok thanks guys, I knew it wouldn't go that fast.
AllI know for sure is that at the top of 4th gear I'm doing about 125-127 mph.
I have never shifted into 5th at that speed, that's why I'm asking if anyone has ever shifted into 5th after topping out in 4th. You'd probably wouldn't get much past 4000 rpmI would guess.

he never said he was going to go that fast or that his car could even go that fast just that he has a theory that if he kept goin with the same speed to rpm ratio that makes his car go 130 in 4th he just added it up. dont know if that makes sense because i am on medicine and have strep but i think i know what i am tryin to say lol

damn about a min late on the comment there

I had a 1994 Thunderbird SC, loved that car! I opened it up one night on the interstate and it topped out at 143, but was only turning about 4300 rpm. I guess my HP met all the wind resistance it could handle.
