Default what gears to run?

i am getting a stall conveter prob like a 2500 stall i have 3.73 gears now but i was wonder if it would be better to get 4.10 or will i just run out of gear to fast? with a conveter and 4.10 i have a feelin there is no more gas mileage not that i care cause iam no liberal and i bought the car knowing it was bad on gas. but anyone know of a good ratio to run with a 2500 stall?

HUH??? What makes you say this? We ar talking bout 4.10's to 4.30's right?? If we were saying 4.10's are 10x better than 2.73's we would all agree! As far as the automatic I would def say 2500 stall with 4.10's are a good set-up but you can get away with 4.30's on an auto. More of preference than anything!

I swear I will kick your *** if you go up to Penny Hill dude man and get those gears before me lol. Come over tomorrow cause I have to take the cams out for the ****ing 3rd time to put the cam followers in... damn manual says put them in after the cam is in but its a pita.

Oh yeah, did the dude say he had the shims for the 4.10s up there? I remember they were Motive gears. If you get them before me oh well I will just order someFord Racing4.10s. I wanna feel the difference too from the 3.73s you have now. Also when are you getting your stall?

Yeah, Get 4.10's. But, isn't that stall pretty close to stock? Why not go with 33-3400?

Either way though, hope you've got some sticky tires

He has some DRs, I was telling him to go with a 3200 stall. What kind of launch will he have on the street though on street tires with a high stall and 4.10s?

I don't know, I've got a stock stall [&o] My tires are excellent street tires though, and I can get a good launch with them. I think they'd meet their match with a high stall though. Control arms and subframes would probably help a bunch.
