RE: Please Help-Driving Stick
well going from second to third is easy just push strait up the shifter will move over to the middle automatically, 4th to 5th you have to push over to the right.I learned how to drive stick about a month ago, i was driving by the second day on hills and everything the only real tip i can give you for hills is you can let out the clutch a little before you let off the break and hit the gas, its wont roll back much at all but once you get used to it its no big deal plus a gt clutch has to be easier then mine. also you can start moving without letting off the clutch fully thats what confused me the most i wanted to be done with the clutch the second i started moving. lots of bucking that day lol

my mustang was my first stick as well its a really easy car to learn on i think the pedal effort is a little more than most cars but i like it that way you can feel what you are doing better i had never learned to drive a stick i bought mine my dad drove it home i drove around with him in the car for about 30 minutes later that night i was out driving it on my on i killed it a couple times it gets a little harder when you are trying to give it hell wiht a stick if you arent used to it but just to drive around its easy and its definently worth learning its alot more fun than an auto

There really isnt to much you can do but practice! There isnt a "do this" and it will be smoother way to teach a person to drive stick without physically being there with you! Don't worry so much about missing a shift.. it happens to the most experienced drivers... the rev limiter will stop you from doing damage to the motor! Best thing to do is get ahold of a POS car with stick to practice.... or go from dealership to dealership test driving stangs with sticks!
