I have stock manifolds, MAC catted H, and flowmaster american thunder (40 series) cat back.
The 2 chamber are louder than the 3 chamber. The 3 chamber delta flow 40 series are a bit quieter.
www.flowmaster.com has sound clips you can listen to of all their mufflers.

I know that living here in IL we have to get emisson tests correct? I should have no worries if I get an h or x pipe with cats correct?

You`ll be fine. You can get away with an o/r midpipe as well. You`ll just need mils or a tuner to turn off the CEL. As long as the CEL is not on at the time of testing, you will pass even without cats. They do not do a visual inspection here like other states.
