It happens quite a bit. It seems that Ford in their wisdom only put three or four threads in each plug hole to hold them in. If you blow one out, the head can be helicoiled but that dosen`t gaurantee that it won`t happen again. When you change your plugs, put the wrench on the plug & give it a LIGHT rap with a small hammer to break the plug free. Remove the plugs only when the engine is cold to reduce the chance of taking the threads out with the plugs. When installing new plugs, use a little antisieze on the threads, & ALWAYS use a torque wrench to install the plugs, with the wrench set at 11 foot pounds.
