Default please help! speed sensor problem!

i have a 1998 mustang gt 5 speed. i just swapped the trans from a 2004 40th anniversary mustang into it. the problem is the old trans was a gear drive sensor. the new one has a magnetic pickup and when plugged in, the speedometer reading is way off. my local dealer had no advice how to fix this problem. i know you can change the gearset on the old one but how do you adjust the magnetic one? i have heard that the computer can be reprogrammed. is this possiable on a 1998 mustang? the dealer asked a mechanic who said that the computer could not be reprogrammed. can someone please help me! thanks.

you have to find a shop that can re calibrate speedos, only certain shops are allowed to i guess they have a special lisence or something...you should try finding a shop that does that and see what they say....
