seriously considering kb 2.2
Hey im seriously thinking about getting the kenne bell 2.2l non intercooled kit this summer. Im pretty sure that you can upgrade to an intercooler later so that shouldn't be a problem. My main question was how well do they hold up when not running them intercooled. I think the stock puley for non i/c is 6lbs but at what point do I need to intercool it. Are twin screws just like any other s/c where you shouldn't go above 8-10 psi? Any opinions?

RE: seriously considering kb 2.2
yea they are all the same. intercooling will make more power thats pretty much it. i'm not sure how much safer it'll be. i'm runnin non-intercooled on mine and its fine. a supercharger is a supercharger they all do the same thing essentially. I wouldnt go over 10 psi cuz your motor just wont be able to take it. intercoolers arent necesarry, just nice to have

sometimes i wish i had a KB...and then i remember how much i paid, and im good. if you got a good deal on one, i say go for it, keep the boost down until you get an intercooler. is the kit complete. or are you having to peice it together??? where are you getting it from??? and im running 10 psi right now, ive seen a lot more than ten, just keep the rwhp under 450-460ish to save your rods from goin snap. you should be fine with the setup your looking at.

I was looking at getting it new from kb. The whole kit for the non i/c is $3899 and i'c is $4999 thus the reason I cant afford the i/c one right now. Id rather buy stuff new because ive been burned a couple times. How much did your entire kit cost? I was also lookin at a non i/c mongoose kit and theyre about the same price so id rather go with the kb.

i paid just a hair over 4000 for my mongoose vortech, installed and tuned. and that includes everything. not sure what KB offers in there kits. the only other thing i needed was gauges and a clutch just because i had the stocker. very well worth the money, the only think i wish i had was the whine of the KB. but otherwise its a great investment.
