Default methonal injection

Hey this may seem like a stupid question but im asking it anyway, say i have a supercharged 98 cobra that runs on/tuned to run on 93 octane, (possible buy in the next week) now if i installed a water methonal injection system from snow performance, would i be able to lower the octane at all since methonal is supposed to increas your octane rating of fuel? thanks for the help

id just buy an intercooler so you can cram more air into the engine with the 93 octane and make more power. but if youre worried about gas prices, lower the psi to the lowest it can go, and try to get an 89 tune

k, but what if i used an intercooler with the methonal would this have any affect on keeping/gaining hp/torque, while still lowerinig the octane of fuel used to 89 or possibley 87

How much is a meth kit honestly gonna cost you. Is it gonna save you ANY money at all over just the extra 1-3 bucks per fillup. Cause now you not only have to spend the money on the meth kit. Now you have to worry about refilling it constantly (which will cost how much) and if you run it dry you have the possibility of hurting the motor.

IMO just put the good gas in it anyway.

ya but see the thing is my dad is pretty cheap on what i can and cant do, i have the money to do it all he just wont let me get a car that runs on 93 octane which kind of sucks espescially since im in college, so im trying to find away to sneak around the whole 93 octane thing even if it ends up costing me more in the long run

youre a big boy now, he cant control what fu**in gas you buy. go to a tuner shop, ask them to put 2 tunes on a chip for you one for 93 octane the other for 89 (87 here in nevada)

you've obviously never researched the matter thoroughly. i don't know how scarce windshield wiper fluid is where you live and how much it costs, but around here, about half of a $1 bottle fills up my resevoir and it lasts a long time. also, kits have the indicator lights that let you know if there's a flow problem and also can bleed your bypass valve and cut timing if there's a problem with the flow.

I would suggest getting the kit, it allows you more tuning to your overall setup, cools the intake charge, adds extra fuel to be burnt, keeps valves and ports clean, helps burn your fuel more efficiently so just in that you can save money and you can take it down to the shop to have an 89 tune worked out and still have almostthe power you had before.

Dont cheap out, get the option with it that will de-time your car if you run out before you can fill up agian, its a very good insurance measure.

Ultimatly it comes down to your setup and the tuner working on your car.

I would have 3 tunes made, economy, stock as it was when you got it (93oct), increased timing for more power (93otc.)
That way you have a good wide range of tunes. Also 1 bottlefull is suppose to last the1tank.
