Drag radials???
If i buy a pair of Drag Radials will i need to beef up my rear end? i will be getting gears in the next week. i was looking into getting some Drag radials for mostly track use because the tires i have now are pretty new and have alot of life left in them. I was told by a friend that if i was to get Drag Radials that i would Have to beef up the rear. So i was just wondering ifthere was any truth to this.If so what all needs to be done?Sorry for the long post
Thanks,
Daniel

RE: Drag radials???
You should ask your friend what consists of beefing up your rear & I bet he couldn't give you specific details...because he doesn't know what he is talking about.
If your car has seen a bit of wheel hop in it's lifetime, traction could strip the spider gears easily. However the stock rear is rather strong and will take you deep into the 12's before you really need to worry a lot.

Dan is correct. It also depends on what brand of Radials you plan on buying. Nittos hook ok. BFG's are better. If you get Mickey Thompson some of them are known to be axle breakers. What RPM do you plan on launching at?
We don't have the rear ends that F-bodies do. They wish they had ours!
