I want to know where you guys get your cams from and how much they cost? I am seriously interested in getting cams for my car.

My second question is how much a tune would cost? Also where would you recommend I get one, like a mail order thing or actually get it dyno tuned?

vt cams without a doubt, check them out, vtengines.com, cams will run around about 550-600 dollars for both,GET a dyno tune, no mail order tune or other crap is going to do the job right, a typical dyno tune is about 300 dollars, plus the cost of the tuner, weather is be SCT or diablo which is another 400 if you dont have one already

if youre interested in getting cams, you do realize that if you really want to do it right, you need springs and heads as well

i didnt say they were necessary, i just dont see why put stage 1's in when stage 2's are the same price, and the only extra thing you need are springs and a tune (tune with stage 1 is still a good idea)

you cant tap the stage 2s full potention with a stock bottom end, and you then need to do springs with the stage2s,however it is true you will make a littlemore power, i just dont see the point if you cant have it all, with the stage1s you will need a tune, the car runs like complete dog dick with out it

well if you are camming the engine in a 4.6 modular, i doubt thats all you are going to do and not go F/I and redo the bottom end. these 4.6's suck a** until you help them breathe, or force air down its throat

So if I go with stage 1's do I need to get springs as well?

I honestly do not plan on building the block up at any time in the future that I can see. I'm a freshman in college.
