i got a mustang gt with a V2. its supposed to be at 10 psi. ok well heres the situation. im driving today and i floor it racing. well i look over at my boost gauge and its reading 12 and climbin. it made it all the way to 14psi. wtf. it normally hits about 10 psi at 5000rpm and at most goes up to inbetween 10 and 11. now does this just sound like my gauge is off or is this possible???

 

i have hit 14psi on mine at 6400rpms...

 

I too have hit higher boost on accident. I overrevved a bit and was at 14psi @ 6800. With a 10lb pulley

Just be worried when you hear the blower and motor going.... Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh*CLANK* ching ching ching ching........

 

Be careful with that one man, I'm still on the stock pulley. I hit 10lbs once or twice.

 

I hit 10psi on an 8# pulley all the time. Prolly cause we have the powerpipe, it makes a difference....

 

ya that wouldnt be the gauge malfunctioning, if anything itd read less, i dont know how it would ever read more.... ya dont worry, if u keep revving it up it will keep making boost, it has no choice but to spin faster.

and ya i got boost [8D]

 

Do you check your A/F ratio during this, or do you have a way to tell what it was?? Hopefully you didn't start going too lean, since I'm assuming your tune is for 10psi...

I've hit 12 psi in mine over revving. I have my rev limiter set at 6500. I normally hit 10psi onmy gauge at 6000 depending on how cold it is outside. Just be careful.

 

is it aftercooled ?I have a v-2 aftercooled and it has a 14 psi pulley . the previous owner may have upgraded . that's weird . but hey more boost is cool
