Default MAF Pegging??

Hey guys, the other day I was giving my uncle a ride to show him what kinda power Im makin and something weird happened. I hardly race my car so I didnt notice this earlier....I went WOT and after the car shifted to 2nd, it kinda pegged as if it had a speed limiter but I was not even close to 70mph and my rpms were not close to redline. I noticed this on the freeway once before but thought it might of just been a bug. I have an auto with Accufab 75mm TB/plenum combo, Tunable induction CAI, Mac Long tube headers, Mac prochamber Borla stinger catback and SCT 93 tune from MD, my rev limiter is set at 6200 rpms (think Im gona turn it down some more) and the speed limiter is off.Could it be that my stock MAF is peggin out even though I am not FI? Since I have long tubes and no cats?

If you have no bosst then it's prob not your Maf. Could be one of your Cop's (coil on plugs) or maybe your fuel filter is clogged????

Weird thing is that it doesnt do it all the time. My fuel filter has less then 200 miles on it (motorcraft). Its only done it twice, the first time was getting on the freeway, I went WOT, it shifted through the gears fine till it reached overdrive (i think, to be honest Im not sure what gear it was in but it was probably overdrive since I was goin pretty fast to pass the cars movin on the freeway and all of a sudden the engine just started to rev up and down as if it had hit a rev limiter or something. I guess Ill have to go try and simulate the problem again and see exactly what rpms and speed Im going. BTW I have 4.10 gears also but that shouldnt have anything to do with it.

if your check engine light came on recently, it could over ride your tune (so ive heard) try retuning to stock, then put ur 93 tune back in and see if it does it. ive never heard of a MAF pinging unless an engine is running extremely lean.

It's not your MAF pegging. With your modsyou won't be pushing enough voltage in the MAF to peg it. I would bet that it is something with your ignition (COP) or fuel filter. Your filter may have picked up a piece of trash in the line or something. Check your injectors as well.

if it isnt the filter or injectors, check your compression
