I have the XE270's in my Stang and wouldn't trade them for the world. The guys I've seen at the track tend to have better 60ft's w/the Comps. I have heard wonderful things from VT and their customer service though, so reall you can't go wrong.

It is always best to get a custom cam compaired to an off the self cam. When ever you get a cam you have to decide on what your goals are going to be. Example if you have a weekend warrior than you will probley be willing to give up some driveabilty ie more lope, chop, stalling out, bucking/surging. But if the car you are modding is your DD then you want a more user friendly cam. You have to remeber that a cam is going to determine how your car drive. Some people are willing to give up lower RPM power or under the curve for top end.How ever some of the big cam grinds will give you higher peak HP number, but the down side is it pulls like a ford taures down low.LOL So you will need to get gear ie 4.10. Just make sure you have the cam spec for your heads.

I agree with that. I got a custom grind on my 270's and I also have 4.10 out back.

Luckily I just got a jeep GC for a daily driver, so drivability is not that big of an issue. I already have 4.10's so that is already taken care of.

go to VTs website it has all the specs. BTW before I got my custom grinds I had VT stage 2 ordered, I waited, waited, waited then cancelled my order and got custom cams.

ok i'm goin thru this right now! I bought comps 278's and have slight pvt issues(motor turns over freely, but not enough valve freeplay) The lift of .550 is fine, problem is the huge duration int242-ex246. called comp and they say these work in test motors, but ford changes piston styles(some have a wider lip on top) remember it doesn't take much. So I do have to flycut the pistons, sucks ,but I want those cams for future mods. cam gears are bolted on Romeo heads and pressed on Windsor heads. sorry I dont know how to tell the difference. i was told the Romeo's are most common..hope this helps
