Default Bad clutch and rough shifting?

Well my clutch has been showing signs of wearing out for a couple months, and the past week or so it seems to be getting progressively worse, so I have a king cobra on the way.

My question is I have also been having trouble shifting, where the stick wont fully push into gear (mainly 3rd) and I basically have to punch it into place. Im using a triax so I dont think its that, and this has also gotton worse over the last couple weeks. I mishifted and ground third at the track not too long ago, could this be the reason?... and is there anything else I should get checked besides the clutch?

Also jw if anyone cares to answer...can a new clutch improve times at the track?

Default RE: Bad clutch and rough shifting?

Well this could be a problem with your dieing clutch, I wouldnt worry about it unless it happens to you again when the new clutch is in. At that time you should check alignment and if all is good then the worst fear would be that the syncro gear in 3rd is begining to fail.

You can replace them and even rebuild the transmission much stronger than what it was but in that case I would just find a new TKO or a low milage used trans.

Best of luck with this.
